Chamber Elects New Officers at Annual Meeting
The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual meeting on April 19th at the Pekin Country Club. Two Hundred people, representing 62 businesses and organizations, were in attendance. The results of the recent election of new directors were announced and the board of directors elected new officers.
New directors elected to 3-year terms by the membership were: Daryl Dagit, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney; Paula Davis, Pekin Community High School District 303; Debbie Davison, Home Health Care Plus; Neal Johnson, Ameren Illinois Utilities; and, Ty Lemaster, CenturyLink.
Officers elected at the annual meeting by the Chamber’s Board of Directors include: President, Althea Geiser, B’Ribboned, Etc.; President -Elect, Charles “Skip” Schermerhorn, Herget Bank; Vice-President, Drew Leman, Leman Property Management; Treasurer, Tom Hornstein, Excalibur Seasoning Company; and, Past President, Mike Vonderheide, Vonderheide Floor Coverings.
Directors who completed their 3-year terms were also recognized at the annual meeting for their contributions to the organization. The retiring directors were: Charles Hanley, Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes; Roxanne Heiser, Aventine Renewable Energy; Tom Hornstein, Excalibur Seasoning Company; Gregg Ratliff, Pekin Daily Times; and, Kay Sutton, Illinois Central College. Dr. Timm Schwartz, DDS, Schwartz and Miller Family Dentistry, was also recognized for his contributions to the board, as he retired as Past President.
The Pekin Civic Chorus, under the direction of Lisa McKenzie, provided the entertainment. The gave a preview of their 2010 show which can be seen June 1-6.
