  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:       Pekin Public Library to Host    Candidate Forum and Discussion   The public is invited to learn more about m ayor al and c ity c ouncil candidates through multiple events prior to April 4 th election .      February 23, 2023; Pekin, IL – February 23, 2023; Pekin, IL – Citizens of Peki n are invited to attend the m ayoral and c ity c ouncil c andidate event s at the Pekin Public Library on Thursdays, March 9 th and March 23 rd from 6-8:00 p.m. These events are an opportunity for voters to learn more about candidates themselves and to hear discussions on relevant issues.       The first event on Thursday, March 9 th will be moderated by the League of Women’s Voters. City c ouncil candidates will speak from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and m ayoral candidates from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is an informal opportunity for the candidates to speak on themselves.   FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Feb. 8, 2023     I Run with Survivors Registration Now Open: Center for Prevention of Abuse Hosts Annual 5K Run/Walk in Honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month Early Bird Registration Now Open for 6 th annual race on April 8   East Peoria, Ill. – In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month this April, the Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) is hosting the 6 th annual 5K run/1 mile walk, I Run with Survivors, on Saturday, April 8 at 8 a.m. in the Levee District in East Peoria, Illinois. Registration is now open here . Participants can enter code EARLYBIRD5 at checkout to receive $5 off registration through Feb. 28, 2023.   The registration fee for adult walkers and runners is $35 and the fee for participants 17 and under is $20, both include a commemorative t-shirt.   Press Release: For Immediate Release       Pekin’s Community Prayer Breakfast Returns March 10 th     THE PEKIN AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WILL HOLD A COMMUNITY PRAYER BREAKFAST FRIDAY, MARCH 10 TH AT GRACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF PEKIN     Pekin, IL- Returning for its 2nd year, the annual Community Prayer Breakfast will be held Friday, March 10th at Grace United Methodist Church of Pekin.    The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce invites the community to gather for a morning of collective community passion with keynote speaker Heather Robertson.   Heather Robertson currently serves as the Executive Director of the United Way of Pekin and as pastor of St. Paul United Church of Christ. Her message will focus on each community member using their voice to promote a transformative vision of Pekin.    The Community Prayer Breakfast will be hosted at Grace United Methodist Church of Pekin, located at 601 N 4 th Street. Breakfast begins at 7: 30 a.m. with program following from 7:45 a.m.
