Illinois Central College Hosts Diverse Adjunct Faculty Recruitment Event April 18

Illinois Central College will host a recruitment event for adjunct faculty on Wed., April 18, from 4 to 6 pm in the Student Center on the ICC Peoria Campus, located at 5407 N. University St. Diverse individuals are encouraged to apply, and all applications are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

Areas of need currently include the following departments: Agricultural and Industrial Technology; Arts and Behavioral Sciences; Business, Legal, and Information Systems; Humanities; Health Careers; and Math, Science, and Engineering.

Individuals with a master’s degree or a master’s degree with 18 hours of graduate coursework in those subject areas are encouraged to apply. For some disciplines, an associate’s degree or certificate is required to qualify as an adjunct. Individuals who meet the required qualifications will be contacted as openings become available.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
