Illinois Central College Children’s Center Receives ExceleRate Illinois Gold Circle of Quality Designation for Fourth Year

Illinois Central College Children’s Center received the Gold Circle of Quality designation from ExceleRate Illinois, the State of Illinois’ quality recognition and improvement system for early learning and development providers.

"Every early learning and development provider who participates in ExceleRate Illinois makes quality a priority," said Cynthia L. Tate Ph.D., Executive Director, Governor's Office of Early Childhood Development. "The higher the designation, the higher the program's demonstrated quality and comprehensiveness in meeting children's early learning needs," she said.

"We are proud to receive the Gold Circle of Quality for the fourth year in a row. This designation would not have been possible without our phenomenal staff and their dedication to the kids and their families," said Melanie Fleming, ICC Children’s Center manager. "Striving for continuous quality improvement each year in child care, early learning, and development helps us better prepare the children for success in school and in life while we are training the next generation of child care service providers."
ICC Children’s Center provides quality care for children aged 2 and toilet trained to the 6th birthday. It has been accredited as a High Quality Early Childhood Program with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 2005.
ExceleRate Illinois is a comprehensive system that includes licensed child care centers, Preschool for All and Center-Based Prevention Initiative Programs, Head Start and Early Head Start Programs. It helps families make more informed choices about their children’s early learning and establishes standards to help infants, toddlers and preschoolers develop intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.
Childcare openings currently are available at the ICC Children’s Center. Students and staff receive a discounted rate. For more information, visit icc.edu/children or call Melanie Fleming at (309) 694-5116.
