Help Neighborhood House raise money to fight hunger! Food Fight is Thursday April 5, 2018

We are thankful for our friends at Heyl Royster and Commerce Bank for starting our collection of wine for our Wine Pull at Food Fight this year. The wine we collect will be gift wrapped. We will throw in several bottles of wine that are worth $50 or more. Participants will pay $20 for a chance to grab one of the special bottles! Proceeds from the wine pull with help programs like Meals on Wheels, After School and Summer Meals, and Critters Meals on Wheels.

You can help by donating a bottle of wine or by purchasing tickets to watch local chefs battle it out! Donations can be dropped off at Neighborhood House: 1020 S. Matthew St. Peoria, IL 61605

Local High School to Win a SMART Board in 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
