ILLINOIS CENTRAL COLLEGE PRESENTS ARTS WEEK 2018 APRIL 16-20

Illinois Central College presents a week of demonstrations, exhibits, concerts and other events as the Arts and Behavioral Sciences Department presents Arts Week 2018 from April 16 through April 20 on the East Peoria Campus.                 The week kicks off with several April 16 activities highlighted by the 6th Annual “Jim Maloof’s Legacy of Love for the Arts in Central Illinois” event at 6:30 pm in the Performing Arts Center. The family-friendly event showcases performing arts talent from the Central Illinois area while honoring the legacy of former Peoria Mayor Maloof. The event will be followed by a cookie and lemonade reception sponsored by Chick-fil-A of Peoria. Tickets to the event cost $7, with all proceeds benefiting Maloof’s signature accomplishment, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Illinois Central College Hosts 14th Annual International Fair April 21

The international students at Illinois Central College invite you to attend the 14 th Annual International Fair to be held on Sat., April 21 from noon to 3 pm in the Student Center on the Peoria Campus, located at 5407 N. University St., Peoria. The event will offer an opportunity to get to know international students and celebrate their cultures through music, entertainment, food samples and dancing.  A group of international students also will feature a fashion show of traditional costumes modeled by ICC students. Other entertainment will include dancing, and a martial arts demonstration. Sixth Annual “ICC Presents: Jim Maloof’s Legacy of Love for the Arts in Central Illinois” Returns to the ICC East Peoria Campus April 16

The Peoria Ballet, ICC Vocal Jazz and Hard Bop Band, the Penguin Project, Heartland Festival Orchestra, the family of former Peoria Mayor Jim Maloof, and others will join forces and talents for “ICC Presents: Jim Maloof’s Legacy of Love for the Arts in Central Illinois” to raise money for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This one-of-a-kind showcase of entertainment, now in its sixth year, it will be held on Mon., April 16 at 6 pm, at the Performing Arts Center on the ICC East Peoria Campus. This one-night only event is a family-friendly showcase of the performing arts in the area and is designed to raise money and highlight former Mayor Maloof’s local and national legacy for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Twenty students in the R. David Tebben Community Leadership Academy were recognized during a graduation banquet on March 22. A total of 419 leaders have participated in the annual program of the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce since it was first held in 1999. Hopedale Spring Market

The Spring Market is returning to Hopedale Wellness Center. Come shop, sell, and celebrate small local businesses at the vendor fair on April 21 st from 9am-12pm. Student Health Initiative Program hosted by Hopedale Medical Complex

Tremont Middle School students will soon begin a Student Health Initiative Program “SHIP” hosted by Hopedale Medical Complex. The program promotes healthy habits for middle school students and their families. SHIP is designed to engage students in healthy habits during their formative years in order to prevent chronic disease and health issues, and it is free for participants as part of HMC’s community health and wellness outreach. Throughout April students will cultivate healthy habits and learn more about healthy choices.                 SHIP is part of the Healthy Schools, Healthy Kids Collaborative which promotes healthy choices and improving youth health through partnerships with local educators, the Tri-County Health Departments, and community advocates.
