Hopedale Medical Foundation Seeking Scholarship Applications

Hopedale Medical Foundation is again accepting applications from high school seniors and college freshmen for its Spring 2019 Scholarship Awards.  The Foundation has awarded over $550,000 in scholarships to area students since 1980.

All public High School Seniors, College Freshmen, and Private and Home-Schooled Seniors whose permanent residence has been within the following school districts for a minimum of one year prior to application are eligible:  Olympia, Tremont, Delavan, Hartsburg/Emden, Deer Creek/Mackinaw and Midwest Central.  Applications may be picked up at your high school counselor’s office or at the HMC Administration building located at 107 Tremont Street in Hopedale.  Applications are also available online at www.hopedalemc.com. 

Applications must be received in the HMC Administration office by Friday, March 29, 2019 at 4:00 pm.  No email applications, please.
The following scholarships will be awarded in 2019:
1.       $3,000 Founder’s (Healthcare) Scholarship.
2.       $1,000 Neil Alford, Jr. Agricultural Scholarship.
3.       $1,000 Phyllis Martin Nursing Scholarship.
4.       $1,000 Orville Augsburger/Dorene Oehler Scholarship.
5.       $1,000 David Eckhardt Scholarship.
6.       $2,000 John Rossi Memorial Nursing Scholarship (may be awarded separate from or in addition to above winners).

All students entering the healthcare or agricultural fields are eligible.

Applications are judged by an independent panel of judges who will review the applicants’:

                Community/Extra-curricular Involvement

Winners will be announced on or before April 19, 2019.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
