In order to better serve our patients and their families, Pekin Hospital’s Pre-Registration/Discharge Office has been relocated to just inside the hospital’s 14th Street entrance, next to the Women’s Diagnostic Center.
Upon arrival for pre-registration, Ambulatory Surgery, Cardiac Cath Lab, and pain injection patients are now being directed to the 14th Street hospital entrance. All inpatients being discharged from the hospital are also being routed through the 14th Street entrance.
“By relocating the Pre-Registration/Discharge Office near the 14th street entrance, our patients scheduled for surgery will experience a much shorter walk, as it is only a few steps to the hospital elevator. This means less walking for patients who often have difficulty walking long distances. We also save valuable time by drawing blood that the physician may have ordered prior to surgery in the new location. This will improve patient and family wait times. It’s also a more convenient location for patients to drop off payments. Patients appreciate the convenience the new location offers. This is just another example of how we provide personal care to our patients,” said Steve Hall, Chief Financial Officer.
