October Puttin' On Pekin Recap

The October 8th Puttin' On Pekin Breakfast was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall. About 100 chamber members and their guests were there to see Terry Von Boeckman win the early award and Jim McMullin win the late prize. The Spotlight on Business was presented by Jason Kreiling to Herget Bank, and accepted by Mike Krohe. Nichole Bozarth presented the Blue Ribbon award to Andrea and Jeff McKinney, in recognition of the upgrades to their home. She also presented the Sunshine Award to the Christian Civic Outreach, which was accepted by Warren Tenhaken. The program for the day was a candidates' forum. Speaking were:
10th Circuit Judge, John P Vespa, Christopher J Spanos (John P Vespa was under the weather and couldn't attend)

18th US Congressional seat, Sheldon Schafer, Deirdre DK Hirner, and incumbent Aaron Schock.

Tazewell County Treasurer, Monica Connett and Mary Burress

Tazewell County Sheriff, Ron Davis, and incumbent Robert Huston 

91st Illinois Representative seat, Michael D Unes and incumbent Michael K Smith
