October Biz Barometer

Sales Tax receipts by the City of Pekin were up 9.0% in October, compared to October of 2009, according to numbers from the Illinois Department of Revenue.  The City received payment from the State in October for the sales taxes collected in August. 

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.1 percent in September on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.  Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 1.1 percent before seasonal adjustment.
