Doing Business With the Illinois National Guard

Did you know that every year the Illinois National Guard spends about $300 million on goods and services in Illinois? Would you like to be a provider of some of those goods and services?  The Illinois Chamber has partnered with the U.S Property and Fiscal Officer for Illinois to assist businesses gain access to that purchasing power.
The Illinois Guard spends money in 35 different product and service lines, extending from heavy and construction engineering to footwear.   The complete listing can be accessed through the link below
On November 9, 2010 at the Hilton Hotel in Springfield from 11:00am to 2:00pm the USPFO and staff will provide information needed to be eligible to sell goods and services to the National Guard.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
