Bringing Pekin area businesses together to meet with students and their parents to explore career options and connect the pieces to educational opportunities for success.
It is with great pleasure that we contact you regarding an opportunity not only for our community and its business members, but also for the students at Pekin Community High School. PCHS is hosting the Career Fair, on Thursday, November 13, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Cafeteria.
This event is designed to showcase area businesses and provide information about all career opportunities at each respective business. Students will gain valuable insight on college and career opportunities and businesses will benefit from connecting with potential interns or employees.
This career fair will highlight the Illinois Career Cluster Framework, which focuses on 5 areas: Business, Marketing and Computers, Technology and Engineering, Family and Consumer Sciences, Health Science Technology, and Agriculture. This will help businesses and students connect and use the alloted time efficiently.
Who Should Participate? Business representatives from all career areas are invited to showcase their company and bring information about specific career opportunities within their business. Virtual tour videos and hands-on samples for students and parents to view are also encouraged.
Who Will Attend? Students from PCHS will be invited to attend along with their parents. Information will be shared with the students in the counselor’s office and the 5th hour classes, as well as, distributed through the Pekin High newsletter and social media. Announcements and posters will also be used to promote this event.
This is an excellent opportunity for students and parents to talk with local business representatives about potential career opportunities and the educational requirements that are needed to be successful in that field. We will not be set up for interviews, but applications are welcome.
We would love your participation! We understand that many of you will have limited time coming from work to this event so we are providing you dinner beginning at 5:00 PM.
