Bridgeway and Illinois Growth Enterprises join forces

INNOVATIVE AFFILIATION BETWEEN BRIDGEWAY AND ILLINOIS GROWTH ENTERPRISES PRESENTS OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICES AND EMPLOYMENT

Bridgeway and Illinois Growth Enterprises (IGE) have joined forces in the creation of a progressive and innovative partnership that will allow for sustainability of human service programs while presenting the opportunity for expansion and growth. Bridgeway and Illinois Growth Enterprises, both of which are not-for-profit human service organizations, have created an affiliation which will combine the expertise of the two organizations with longstanding ties in their respective service areas. The Boards of Directors of Bridgeway, which operates in 40 locations throughout Illinois and Iowa, and Rockford-based Illinois Growth Enterprises, have approved a long-term affiliation agreement paving the way for the maintenance and expansion of jobs and programs.

The state’s budget woes have been painful and far reaching to human service organizations which serve persons with disabilities. Draconian budget cuts to human service organizations by the state of Illinois have resulted in loss of services to the citizens of Illinois. The state has offered no apparent solutions to address this dilemma thus creating a climate that mandates innovative thinking in preserving jobs and services. The unique partnership between Bridgeway and IGE will provide for enhanced revenue sources through shared expertise in the introduction of new services and employment opportunities while allowing for the reduction of corporate overhead through shared operational systems and benefit plans. Bridgeway and Illinois Growth Enterprises are committed to seeking out business opportunities that will create employment for persons with disabilities and community members as a whole.
