Pekin Hospital Offers Free Screenings

In an efort to improve the health of central Illinois, Pekin Hospital will offer free pulmonary function screenings on Monday, March 28 from 2 – 6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church located at 13443 Townline Road in Green Valley.  The event is open to women and men.

Pulmonary function screenings evaluate and measure how much air and how easily the air moves in and out of your lungs. These screenings do not test for lung fitness or exercise tolerance.  The results of your screening will help your doctor determine if you have any potential lung problems or diseases such as asthma, emphysema or pulmonary fibrosis. These screenings are a small part of pulmonary function testing that may detect a respiratory problem at an early stage.

As a reminder to participants, screenings are not intended to take the place of regular physical examinations, but are offered as an opportunity for individuals to learn more about their own health.

No appointment is necessary.  First come, first served.  For upcoming screenings and information, please visit http://www.pekinhospital.org/ or call (309) 353-0662.
