Herget Bank Promotes Andrea Gschwend

Herget Bank is pleased to announce that Andrea L. Gschwend has been promoted to Business Development Representative at the Main branch, 33 S. 4th in Pekin.

Since her start at the Bank a little over a year ago, Gschwend has served as back-up Teller Supervisor at the Parkway branch, where she helped to oversee the tellers and assist customers with their banking transactions. She is now eager to begin her new responsibilities as a Business Development Representative, which expands upon her customer service skills and focuses more on building relationships with new customers and acquiring business.

“I am ready to move forward with the opportunities my new position offers,” Gschwend said. “I am also excited to play a role in the strong tradition Herget Bank represents in the Pekin community.”
A graduate of Peoria Notre Dame High School, Gschwend was active in cheerleading, volleyball and softball.  She is also a graduate of St. Ambrose University (SAU) in Davenport, IA where she majored in Sports Management and was captain of the cheerleading squad. Upon graduation, she was the recipient of the NAIA Champions of Character Award at SAU. Gschwend also coaches competitive All-Star Cheerleading teams and tumbling classes at United Starz Academy in Morton, IL.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
