Several members of the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce attended the Heart of Illinois Legislative Reception at the Pere Marquette Hotel in Peoria on March 8. Nearly 200 chamber members attended the event, and were able to visit with area legislators. Congressman Aaron Schock gave a short update on legislative activity in Washington, DC. State legislators from central Illinois who were in attendance included: Senators Dave Koehler, Dale Risinger, and Dan Rutherford; and, Representatives Jehan Gordon, David Leitch, Don Moffitt, and Keith Sommer.
