Methodist Nurse Recognized as Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management

Feb. 5, 2010 - The America Hospital Association (AHA) Certification Center has awarded Sandy Pryor, RN of Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, the designation of Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM). The CPHRM is a national credential that distinguishes an individual as being among the elite in a critical field of healthcare management.

Pryor is the Patient Safety Coordinator/Risk Manager and HIPPA Privacy Officer for Methodist. Her key areas of responsibility include claims management, corporate risk management program administration and education, pro-active risk assessments, disclosure facilitator and patient safety goals/improvements.

To earn the CPHRM, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that incorporate a blend of work experience and education, agree to adhere to Professional Standards of Conduct, and pass the CPHRM Examination.

Pryor is currently a member of both the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and the Illinois Society if Healthcare Risk Management (ISHRM). She has served as past president of ISHRM and was named ISHRM's Risk manager of the year in 2007. She resides in Mapleton, IL.
