McDaniels Marketing Communications Wins Awards

During the Region IV awards ceremony in Madison, WI, McDaniels Marketing Communications received a first place “Best of NAMA” award for the digital presentation, “Think’n with Lincoln,” and “Secret Six/Lead Hybrid,” a local multi-media campaign. Presented by the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA), the regional ceremony honored the area’s best work in agricultural communications.

“Think’n with Lincoln” was created for the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA), a statewide organization for Illinois soybean growers located in Bloomington, IL. The interactive game was unveiled as part of ISA’s new exhibit at the Farm Progress Show last September and supported ISA’s key message – “Illinois Soybean Growers: A Legacy of Leadership” – by helping people learn how Illinois soybean growers lead in agricultural production, research and education. “Think’n with Lincoln” also tied in with Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday celebration and made a connection between Lincoln as a leader and soybean growers as leaders. Designed to entice visitors to answer trivia questions, the digital presentation features a custom video game experience. Now, the game is featured on the ISA website in a fun, educational format that teaches facts about soybeans and Lincoln via multiple-choice and true-false answers.

The 4610 Secret Six/Lead Hybrid multi-media campaign was created for Heritage Seeds, a division of American Seeds LLC located in Reynolds, IN. Targeting growers throughout Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, the campaign was designed to capture the attention of those in the market for high-performing, genetically proven corn products that are bred to perform in specific fields. “4610 Secret Six/Lead Hybrid” was also intended to draw potential new customers to Heritage Seeds’ tent at the 2009 Farm Progress Show. By positioning Heritage Seeds as both “The Leader in Product Placement” and the right choice for making “yield driven” decisions, the campaign helped set the company’s new technology and products apart from the competition.
