CASA Celebrates New Pekin Office

To effectively serve abused and neglected children in Tazewell County, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) has opened a new branch office in Pekin, Illinois. CASA of the Tenth Judicial Circuit announced on May 2, 2018, their expansion to the entire Tenth Judicial Circuit of Illinois including Peoria, Stark, Marshall, Putnam, and Tazewell Counties.

Since July 2018, staff members Ryan Lacerna and Matt Collins have been working full-time to establish program services and address the need in the area. To celebrate the new Pekin office and presence in the community, CASA recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony in collaboration with the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was  held at the CASA office in Pekin located at 351 Sabella Street.

CASA programs have been successfully implemented across the United States and in several other communities in Illinois. The program aims to reduce the amount of time children spend in foster care and help ensure that the child’s best interest is served throughout the court process.
