Over 400 people get winter coats at
Annual Coat Giveaway

Thank you to all of our donors and volunteers for bringing warmth to our community this winter! Over 400 coats were given away this year. Individuals and families are now prepared for the cold months ahead with coats, hats, gloves, and scarves!


Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

Santa for Seniors brings many volunteers together for a great cause! November 19-21 you can help wrap gifts that get delivered to 1500 isolated seniors! Join our wrapping party or help us deliver gift bags to seniors on December 2!

Toy Shop assists families with toys for children during the holiday season. Volunteers are needed to assist parents and grandparents with shopping!

Local High School to Win a SMART Board in 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE. Crescent Ave in Peoria. The event is free but space is limited. Reserve your seat by calling 671-5121.
