Illinois Central College Celebrates International Education Week Nov. 12-16
Illinois Central College
will recognize International Education Week 2018 with a variety events aimed at
celebrating its commitment to international education and diversity. ICC
employees and local business leaders, as well as international and domestic
students who have studied abroad, will participate in the week’s events to
offer their perspectives on the benefits of international education and
exchange experiences. All events are free and open to the public. Participants
are invited to bring their own lunch or purchase from the ICC Cafeteria for the
Lunch and Learn sessions.
Some of the week’s scheduled events include:

Mon., Nov. 12 from 11:30
am to 1 pm, Cafeteria on the East Peoria Campus – Kick-off speeches by ICC
President Dr. Sheila Quirk-Bailey and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr.
Emmanuel Awuah.

Tues., Nov. 13 from
11:30 am to 1 pm, Tranquility Room on the East Peoria Campus - Lunch and Learn
focusing on the value of an international education and featuring international
students and those who have studied abroad.

Wed., Nov. 14 from 11:30
am to 1 pm, Room 212C/D on the East Peoria Campus - Lunch and Learn and
international business industry discussion focusing on the importance of a
global education in the workplace.

Thurs., Nov. 15 from 11
am to 2 pm Student Lounge on the East Peoria Campus – Community and Student
International Festival featuring international students and representatives
from the community will host booths with displays from different countries and
cultures, such as Tanzania, Libya, China, Kuwait, Mexico and India.
International Education Week is an annual nation-wide effort, led by the U.S.
Dept. of State and the U.S. Dept. of Education, to promote programs preparing
Americans for a global environment and attracting future leaders from abroad to
study with and learn from each other. Additional information on the State
