Illinois Central College welcomes new Business Solutions Learning Consultant

Illinois Central College Professional Development Institute (PDI) recently welcomed Pam Hilliard, of Metamora, Ill., as its new Business Solutions Learning Consultant. In this newly created position, Hilliard will assist local businesses in achieving their desired outcomes with regard to training, within a culture of engagement and life-long learning. She joins the Professional Development Institute, located at ICC Peoria Campus, and will report to Dean of Corporate and Community Education Ellen George.
                Hilliard received her Bachelor of Science degree in educational psychology from Illinois State University. She is a professional member of the Association for Talent Development and is currently working toward certification as an ATD Master Trainer. She brings more than 20 years of real-world business experience in not-for-profit, customer service, and retail organizations. Hilliard spend the last 10 years serving in corporate training and development at Maui Jim and OSF Healthcare, where she was responsible for training delivery, content development, project management, and consultation.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
