Busey Sponsors Illinois Marathon Youth Run

Children embrace physical fitness at Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon
To encourage the health and well-being of children in our communities, Busey is proud to support the Busey Illinois Youth Run, brought to you by the Ninth Annual Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon. The event will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Memorial Stadium at 1402 S. 1st St. in Champaign.

Children 10 and younger will run or walk the 1K in separate races, according to age, inside Memorial Stadium with an exciting finish at the 50-yard line. From 1-3 p.m. before the race, children can visit the Youth Run Fun Zone—featuring balloon artists, temporary tattoos, coloring pages, games and more.

The Busey Illinois Youth Run entry fee is $12 through Friday, April 21 or $15 on race day. You can register online, by mail or in person the day of the event. Children will receive a t-shirt, drawstring backpack and a medal. Noodles & Company will serve their signature Wisconsin Mac & Cheese after the run. In case of inclement weather, the rain date for the Busey Illinois Youth Run is Sunday, April 23 at 3 p.m.

Participants can pick up their race packets and instructions at the Health & Fitness Expo at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) at 201 E. Peabody Dr. in Champaign on Thursday, April 20 from 4-8 p.m. or Friday, April 21 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. They will also be available from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. the day of the race in the Great East Hall of Memorial Stadium.

For those who do not plan to participate in the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon, they are encouraged to join Busey associates and cheer on the runners. Cheering sections will be located on the race route at the following Busey locations: 100 W. University Ave. and 614 S. Sixth St. in Champaign, and 201 W. Main St. in Urbana.
