13th Annual ICC International Fair

13th Annual ICC International Fair --- Sat., April 22, 2017 Noon to 3 pm --- Cafeteria East Peoria Campus

This is the 13th year for the International Fair at ICC. The event is open to the public and is a great opportunity for the community, especially families, to discover and appreciate world cultures while having fun together.

Some of the event’s highlights:

· Celebration of diverse cultures through music, entertainment, food samples and dancing

· Fashion show by international students featuring traditional costumes

· Martial arts demonstration

· Informational booths and food samples from Tanzania, China, Jordan and Egypt (food samples available at a modest cost)

· Global Village of Peoria Heights will offer a selection of coffees, chocolates, clothing and gifts from developing countries for purchase

There is an admission donation of $3, and children under 10 are admitted free. Proceeds will go toward an International F-1 student scholarship fund.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
