PUTTIN’ ON PEKIN BREAKFAST!

The next Puttin’ on Pekin breakfast planned by the Members First Committee of the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce will be held virtually via Zoom on Friday, June 12th. Breakfast will be available by Drive-Thru Pick up from West Dublin Pub, 507 Court Street, Pekin between 6:45-7:15 am, with the Zoom meeting beginning at 7:30 am.

The bimonthly breakfasts provide an opportunity for business people to network while learning about positive events in the Pekin area.  Besides great food, other features of the breakfast include awards such as a Spotlight on Business, Blue Ribbon and Sunshine Award presentations, door prize drawings with prizes provided by local businesses, one-minute reminders, and “Meet the New Chamber Member.”

The cost of the breakfast is $25 per person with a $5 discount for reservations made before noon on Wednesday, June 10th and an additional $5 discount for Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce members. Reservations can be made by email at info@pekinchamber.com or by calling the Chamber at 346-2106 where you can pay by credit card.  Reservations by individuals/businesses not part of the chamber must be paid in advance.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
