Bialobreski named Civil Engineer of the Year by ASCE section

Kurt Bialobreski, P.E., PTOE, an assistant vice president and the multimodal business development principal at Hanson Professional Services Inc., was named the Civil Engineer of the Year on Sept. 26 during the 95th Annual American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Central Illinois Section Meeting and Banquet in Peoria.

Bialobreski, who joined the firm in 2006, has served as a project manager and traffic engineer on transportation and infrastructure projects throughout the country, including the Warehouse District revitalization, Washington Street improvements and new westbound span of the McClugage Bridge in Peoria.

A member of ASCE, Bialobreski was named the 2012 Young Engineer of the Year by the Central Illinois Section. In 2014, he was selected as a Rising Star in Civil Engineering by ZweigWhite’s Civil + Structural Engineer magazine and was named one of the 40 Leaders Under Forty by InterBusiness Issues magazine. He also is a member of the American Public Works Association, Institute of Transportation Engineers and the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee.
Bialobreski received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Florida and a certified professional traffic operations engineer.

ASCE is the oldest national engineering society in the United States. Founded in 1852, ASCE has more than 150,000 members worldwide.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
