Registration for ICC Spring Semester, Minimester 2018 Opens October 30

Illinois Central College will open registration for its spring minimester and spring 2018 semester on Mon., October 30. The schedule is available online at icc.edu/academics/class-schedule/.
Classes for the spring minimester begin Tues., December 19, and the spring 2018 semester begins on Tues., January 16.
ICC also is offering an expedited way for potential students to get through the steps of enrolling all in one day with its new QuickStart program. QuickStart is available on Tuesdays, now through December 19 (excluding November 21) from noon to 7 pm on the ICC East Peoria Campus. No appointment is necessary. Free parking is available in Lots A and B on the East Peoria Campus, as well as the Visitors Lot.

              During QuickStart events, participants can complete an ICC application and have it processed immediately, take placement testing, meet with an advisor, fill out financial aid paperwork, set up a payment plan, and enroll for classes. Advisors are available to help students who wish to enroll, but additional follow-up may be required. Some programs are restricted enrollment and only general education or pre-requisite courses may be scheduled in those cases. Enrollment, testing, and financial aid services also will be available for all students.

QuickStart participants will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure enough time to complete the steps to enrollment, ICC suggests arriving no later than 6 pm.

Applicants also should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.ed.gov/  prior to coming to campus. Please list ICC on the form in order to be fully considered for federal student aid opportunities at the College.
To complete all the steps of admission and enrollment, participants should bring:
·        A valid photo ID (driver’s license, passport, military ID, or other government-issued ID).
·        Checkbook or credit card to set up a payment plan.
·        Social security card.

               Students should first fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://fafsa.gov/. ICC Financial Assistance staff is available to answer questions about completing the FAFSA or you can find helpful information located at http://icc.edu/admissions/financial-aid/how-to-apply/.

Local High School to Win a SMART Board in 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters.
