ILLINOIS CENTRAL COLLEGE HOSTS WEBINAR AND “VIRTUAL” JOB FAIR TO ATTRACT QUALIFIED ADJUNCT FACULTY

Illinois Central College is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach its subject areas of high need. The College will host a webinar, “ICC Adjunct Faculty Job Fair: A Virtual Adjunct Faculty Recruitment Event” on two separate dates for the convenience of those interested in learning about teaching part-time at ICC.

Participants may choose from one of the following sessions:

·        Tues., November 14 at noon
·        Thurs., November 16 at 4 p.m.

Areas of high need, by department, include:

Agricultural & Industrial Technologies: Caterpillar Dealer Service Technology, General Motors Automotive Service Education Program, Diesel Powered Equipment Technology (DPET), and Welding
Arts and Behavioral Sciences: Theatre, Architectural, and Graphic Design
Business, Legal, & Information Systems: Business, Economics, and, Law Enforcement / Criminal Justice
Health Careers: CNA (Nursing Assistant Program), Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technician Program, Nursing, and Surgical Technology
Humanities: American Sign Language, English, College Success, English as a Second Language, History, Foreign Language, and Political Science
Math, Science, and Engineering: Chemistry, Biology (Anatomy & Physiology), Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical), Mathematics, and Physics
Candidates must have a master’s degree AND/OR 18 hours of graduate-level courses in the discipline to be considered. Some disciplines have additional requirements.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
