PCHS Choral Students Start Ad Sales Campaign

On Monday, January 4, 2010, students from the Pekin Community High School Choral Department will begin soliciting local businesses for support of the upcoming February Festacular Show Choir Invitational. February Festacular will be held on Saturday, February 27 at Pekin Community High School and is organized by the PCHS Choral Music Boosters.

Students will be approaching local businesses to purchase advertisements in the event program. Ads are available in four sizes and range in price from $35 - $150. Corporate Partnerships are also available at the $500 and $1000 levels.

February Festacular will host 12 show choirs from across the Midwest. Approximately 2,500 visitors are expected to attend the competition. The event will provide funds to help with the expenses related to the choral program at PCHS.

"While the event itself is still 8 weeks away, the ad sales campaign is a very important part of this fundraiser" said Andrew Seibert, an event consultant working with the PCHS Choral Music Boosters. "It is a wonderful way for the community to show it’s support of the event, our school, and our students. In other area communities, choral programs raise over $10,000 annually through the ad sales."

The ad sales campaign will continue through January 29, 2010. Businesses interested in supporting February Festacular can contact Mike Ingles at 309-267-4922 for additional information.

The PCHS Choral Music Boosters is a non-profit organization operated by the choral parents. The Boosters provide additional funds to the show choir program to assist in supplementing the funds provided by the school, as well as reducing the financial burden on the students involved in the program. PCHS has two extracurricular show choirs, “Noteables” and “Intuition”. Combined, more than 100 students are involved with the show choirs.
