Pekin Hospital League Announces 25th Annual Golf Classic

The Pekin Hospital League’s 25th Annual Golf Classic will be held May 2, 2016, at the Pekin Country Club.

The entry fee is $125 per person and includes green fees, cart, box lunch, beverages and a buffet dinner. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The format will be a four-person scramble.

“This year is even more special because it is the 25th anniversary of the Golf Classic,” said Sherry Semonis, Director of Fund Development for the Pekin Hospital Foundation. “Thank you to the League members and to everyone who makes this annual event possible.”

Proceeds from the Golf Classic will benefit Pekin Hospital’s CCU Monitoring System, which has been donated by the League. The entry deadline is April 25, 2016. To register or to learn more about the event, please call 309-353-0803.


Established in 1958, the Pekin Hospital League is comprised of more than 200 area volunteers who also manage the Hospital’s Gift Shop and Nearly Nu Shop. Since its inception, the League has raised approximately $5 million for the Pekin Hospital Foundation.

Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
