Busey Celebrates National Volunteer Month
Busey associates and
the community team up to serve charitable organizations
Busey is excited to celebrate service—taking action and
solving problems in our community—during National Volunteer Month in April. Community
Promise Month encourages Busey associates to volunteer their time and talents
to organizations that fuel their passion for helping others. More than two
dozen events are planned to support charitable organizations including: TAPS
Animal Shelter and Carol House of Hope.
Community Promise Month volunteer
opportunities in Pekin include:
- TAPS Animal Shelter: Volunteers will assist the no-kill
shelter with restoration projects at the facility at 100 TAPS Ln. on April
14 from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
- Carol House of Hope: On April 22 from 2-4 p.m. at their sister
organization, Center for Prevention and Abuse, volunteers will spring
clean and sort donations.
Since its inception in 2012, Busey associates have
volunteered nearly 5,700 hours in April alone, and we look forward to
contributing even further in 2016.
In addition to volunteer opportunities, Busey makes it easy
to give back through social media initiatives—Community Counts & Promise
a Plate—during Community Promise Month.
- Community Counts: Busey will award $250 the first three Fridays
in April to a charity of your choice. Nominate your favorite nonprofit on
Facebook or Twitter. The organization with the most votes in Busey’s Facebook
photo album each week wins.
- Promise a Plate: Busey will partner with Peoria
Area Food Bank April 22-29 to stock their shelves. Since its inception,
Busey has provided 52,000 meals to those less fortunate across Central
Illinois. “Like” Busey on Facebook or “follow” them on Twitter or
Instagram to donate 30 meals. Share or retweet messaging on Facebook or
Twitter and Busey will donate 20 meals. For a donation of 10 meals,
comment or reply on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
