Tazewell County Jaycees to Hold a Membership Information Open House

The Tazewell County Jaycees will be holding a membership information open house which is open to the general public on Thursday, June 23rd at 6-9 PM at the EP’s Timeout at 1011 East Washington in East Peoria to discuss with prospective members the benefits of joining the Tazewell County Jaycees chapter.
The Tazewell County Jaycees covers the towns of East Peoria, Galesburg, Lincoln, Morton, Mt. Pulaski, Peoria and the communities that surround these towns.  “We would like to extend this invitation to anyone in the area between the age of 18 and 40 years old who would like to hear more about the Jaycees,” said Joy Williamson, Tazewell County Jaycees President.

“This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Jaycees, while networking with fellow professionals in a fun and casual setting,” said Williamson.  “We will be providing food and soda throughout the evening.  We’ll have several chapter members in attendance socializing and giving more information about what the Jaycees do as an organization and for the community.”

The Tazewell County chapter is part of the 1,400 local Chapters throughout the United States.  The Jaycees provide individuals between the age of 18 and 40 the opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills while serving their community.

The Tazewell County Jaycees Chapter conducts approximately 25 projects per year including their Tri for Kids’ Sake, Tazewell County Wine & Beer Fest, and projects that they help support charities like Wishes for Seniors, March of Dimes, and many more.  At the end of the fiscal year, all of the profit generated from Chapter projects less Chapter expenses is funneled back into the community.

The Tazewell County Chapter holds their monthly general meeting on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:00 PM at Eli’s (205 W. Jefferson) in Morton.  For further information on the Tazewell County Jaycees, membership or any of their sponsored events write to TazCoJaycees@yahoo.com or visit www.TazCoJaycees.com.
