Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society June Meeting

Larry Spialek & Scott Thompson will give a presentation on WWII reenacting at the June 14th meeting of the Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society.  Larry & Scott are members of a living history group that gathers to reenact moments from World War II at various locations through out the Midwest.
Larry's presentation will focus on the uniform, weapons & gear carried by a typical G.I. in 1944.  He covers infantry, tank & medic duties.  Larry has always been interested in history and has been a part of a reenactment group for about 15 years.  He had a mentor & fan in his father, a WWII veteran that enjoyed assisting whenever he could.

Scott portrays a Panzer-Grenadier of the German army.  He explains the gear, uniform & accessories of the German army.  He is also his units cook and has published a book on German field kitchens.

The meeting begins at 7:00 PM at our research center, 719 N 11th St., Pekin and is open to the public.  The building in handicap accessible with ample parking.  Would love to have many veterans in attendance!
