Hanger to Hope News Release
River 97.3 is teaming up with Lifeline Pilots to help those devastated by the recent storms in Joplin, Mo. Many of those people who lost everything in May are moving into new apartments, homes, and trailers provided by FEMA. Life is starting over again and while "Home is where the heart is," they are beginning with nothing. “Hangar To Hope” is looking for items to make their house a home.
Among the items needed to insure they have the basics are:
Set of Dinnerware
Drinking Glasses
Silverware
Pans (one frying pan and one sauce pan)
Cooking Utensils
Hand Held Can Opener
Kitchen Towels
Sponge
Alarm Clock
Pillows
Pillow Cases
Bath Towels
Washcloths
The items must be new. Help fill the hangar! You can drop off items at the River 97.3 studios Monday-Friday from 8AM-5PM. River 97.3 will be out and about various times of the week to also serve as a drop-off point and will gladly accept your donations. Images 126 in Eureka is also serving as a drop-off location. The deadline is Friday, July 1st at 5PM.
Morning co-host Jenn Smith lived in Joplin for two years and knows the area and the people. She will be flying with Lifeline Pilots to personally deliver the donated items.
