Hanson’s Cindy Loos receives ACEC-IL’s Community Service Award
Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Cindy Loos, P.E., regional vice president, received a 2011 Community Service Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (ACEC-IL) during its Annual Meeting Member Awards Dinner in Springfield, Ill., on June 9. The Community Service Award recognizes ACEC-IL members for their accomplishments in community service.
Loos serves as president of the Women's Transportation Society, Central Illinois Chapter, and she is chairwoman of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce's Transportation Committee. Additionally, she was appointed to Bradley University's College of Engineering and Technology Executive Advisory Council, and she was elected to the Princeville Community Unit School District #326 Board of Education, serving through 2013.
Her nomination also noted her participation in several business and community leadership activities, including Peoria’s Community Leadership School, East Peoria Chamber of Commerce, Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce, Heart of Illinois United Way, and the Winning Communities Group.
Loos has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Eastern Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bradley University.
