Pekin Park District ~ Soldwedel Program Center February Events 
"Winter Bird Watch" this Saturday, Feb. 12, 10am-approx noon.
Tom Lerczak, Administrator Natural Areas Preservation Specialist for the Ill Nature Preserves Commission, expert on wildlife in their habitats, and wonderfully interesting gentleman, will lead the venture beginning at Soldwedel Program Center. You'll enjoy coffee and a short orientation, then a hike into McNaughton for observation and identification, then back to Soldwedel for discussion, questions and answers.
Fee is $5. Please register by this Friday.

Cross Country Ski Workshop is Sunday, Feb. 27, 10am-1pm or 1:30-4:30pm.Join Pat Sullivan, 22 years of experience as an environmental educator and Director of Peace of Earth Lodge in Rushville. Pat will provide all equipment and put you at ease with the basic information to get you started skiing the right way...no matter your ability or experience.
Fee is just $20. So Pat can plan for all sizes of equipment needed to fit you properly, registration deadline is this Friday.

Eco Crafting with Paper is Saturday, Feb 19, 1pm-4pm.
Julie Lerczak, Coordinator of Arts and Nature Based Education Programs at Soldwedel, will teach us how to make paper with recycled objects. All materials are provided.
Fee is $27.

Dear Children of the Earth is Saturday, Feb. 19, 3-5 year olds 11am-noon.
5-7 year olds 9:30-10:30am. Beth Wegner, Nature Specialist with years of experience teaching children about Mother Nature and her gifts to us, will guide the little ones along with a grandparent or special friend. We will explore our planet through stories, puppets and crafts and learn how to become superhero for Mother Nature.
Fee is $10.
