GOODWILL RESPONDS TO CORONAVIRUS EVENT

We know there are growing concerns about the Coronavirus COVID-19 as a significant health event. The well-being of our donors, shoppers, program participants and our Goodwill employees is our top priority. We want you to know that Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois is monitoring the latest reports from State and Federal Agencies regarding suggested actions for organizations serving the public. We are taking precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers and our staff, by increasing the cleaning and sanitation of all hard surfaces within our locations to provide peace of mind and added precaution. All Goodwill Retail Stores, Donation Centers and Goodwill Commons will continue normal operations while we continue to closely monitor the situation, and we thank you for your continued support. Again, our customers, donors, program participants and staff are our highest priority. Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois is here to address any questions or concerns. Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
