East Peoria traffic signal upgrade set March 19

Main and Camp intersection will be four-way stop during work

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that traffic signal upgrades at the intersection of Main and Camp streets in East Peoria is set for March 19.

The work will require the intersection to be controlled by a flashing red (four-way stop) light beginning at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to be finished by the end of the day. There will be no lane closures.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
