New MRI Unit Expands Services at Pekin Hospital

A new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit is now operational at Pekin Hospital. The upgraded MRI unit will improve service times and provide higher quality scans for area patients and physicians.
The new MRI unit, a General Electric 1.5T, is housed in the hospital’s north tower near the 14th Street entrance. It will replace the hospital’s previous MRI unit, which is more than 10 years old.
“We are pleased to offer this outstanding technology and service to Central Illinois,” said Ryan Morris, Director of Medical Imaging. “In addition to producing better images, we will be able to perform faster scans for the people we serve.”
Part of Progressive Health Systems, Pekin Hospital is a 107-bed medical center serving Central Illinois since 1913. For more information visit pekinhospital.org.
