ILLINOIS CENTRAL COLLEGE GUEST ARTISTS SERIES PRESENTS THE LOST CONCERT: THE MUSIC OF THE MONKEES AND BEATLES ON MAY 14
Classic songs from two legendary
music groups will be featured on May 14 when the Illinois Central College Guest
Artists Series presents The Lost Concert: The Music of the Monkees and
Beatles.
Although they were popular during
the same time period, the Monkees and the Beatles never performed a concert
together. This event rewrites musical history by imagining what such a concert
would be like. The event features tribute bands Pleasant Valley Sunday and
Paperback Writer and begins at 7:30 pm in the ICC Performing Arts Center,
located on the East Peoria Campus.
The Fulton-Mason-Peoria-Tazewell
Unit of the University of Illinois Extension 4-H program will be the
highlighted community partner for the event. The community partner program, a
part of the ICC Guest Artists Series, highlights a non-profit or community
organization which has ties to the Guest Artists Series performance.
Patrons at the event who donate to
support 4-H will be entered in a drawing for two free tickets to a future ICC
Guest Artists Series event.
In addition, the 2016-2017 Guest
Artists Series lineup of performances will also be revealed at the May 14
event.
As it does for all ICC Guest
Artists Series events, CityLink provides Park and Ride service from Peoria for
the performance. Buses leave Evergreen Square at 7 pm, to transport passengers
directly to the ICC Performing Arts Center. Buses return to Evergreen Square
immediately after the show. The cost is $1 each way with senior citizens 65
years of age or older riding free.
Tickets cost $20 for the general
public and $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at ArtsAtICC.com or by calling the box office
at (309) 694-5136.
