Tazewell County Museum Birthday Party

Dear Members and Friends,

You are cordially invited to help us celebrate our 8th Birthday on July 13th, 2011. Join us from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for cake and drinks at the Tazewell County Museum and Educational Center, 2950 Court St., Pekin, IL. You may also help make a donation to the museum by participating in our birthday fundraiser by eating sometime on July 13th at Avanti's in Pekin.

Avanti's has graciously agreed to help us with a fund raising day by giving us 10% of the proceeds from any meal ordered by dine in, drive in or take out. All you need to do is present the enclosed voucher that day to Avanti's and they will give us a donation from your purchase. Thank you for celebrating with us on July 13th.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
