DeJarld celebrates 35 years at Hanson’s Peoria office

 

PEORIA, Ill. — Tom DeJarld, P.E., S.E., a senior structural engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Peoria office, recently celebrated 35 years of service with the firm. 

DeJarld joined the company in 1987 and provides project management and structural engineering services. He has provided structural engineering services for a variety of building, industrial and bridge projects, including new construction and the rehabilitation of structures. He has worked on projects for healthcare, education, municipal, military, industrial and religious facilities, such as aircraft hangars, helipads, machine foundations, schools, nursing and assisted living homes, libraries, fire stations and churches. His bridge-related projects include pedestrian walkways, highway and railroad bridges and bridge inspections. 

DeJarld received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1982 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin, a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and a licensed civil engineer in California. He is a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction, International Code Council and the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Central Illinois Section, from which he received the 2010 Civil Engineer of the Year award.
