Chambers All In For Economic Recovery Releases Statement After Governor’s Budget Address

 

 

Pekin, IL February 3, 2022- Chambers All-In for Economic Recovery is a coalition of over 40 chambers from every corner of the state advocating for policy, legislation, and regulation to help Illinois businesses recover from the pandemic. The coalition issued the following statement:

 

“We are encouraged to hear the Governor’s call to renew the EDGE credit program as it is a top priority for the Coalition. But one of the top issues facing businesses is addressing the $4.5 billion Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund Deficit. If not addressed, companies across Illinois will see a significant tax increase and their future growth will be hindered. Those seeking unemployment benefits will see reductions in the amount and duration of benefits available to them. This spring, the Coalition looks forward to working with the administration and the Illinois General Assembly to ultimately resolve the deficit and ensure businesses are not on the hook for more taxes when many can least afford it.”

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
