HMC Honors Staff with Achievement Awards

December 22, 2021

Hopedale, IL – On December 17, 2021, Hopedale Medical Complex (HMC) awarded 10 staff members with achievement awards for their service and commitment to Hopedale Medical Complex.

The 2021 Spark Award was presented to Lyndsy Toney from the Surgery Department. The Spark Award is given to an HMC employee who has been on staff for less than 18 months, has a positive outlook, and has shown proven leadership in their department.

The LOVE Award was started by Dr. Rossi, Sr., and is given to an HMC CNA who is passionate about helping those in need. This year’s recipient was Olivia Myers, Nursing Home CNA. Olivia puts others first and truly has a servant’s heart.

Three Meritorious Awards were presented during this year’s presentation. Meritorious Award Winners are dedicated to the mission of the organization and embrace the values that have been a part of the foundation of the hospital. They are focused, passionate, and are always willing to jump in wherever it is necessary. This year’s winners include: Timothy Sondag - Chief Nursing Officer, Jackie Lampe – Manager of the Hopedale Commons, and Joe Whitson – Medical Arts Practice Manager.

Jill Litwiller, Patient Access Director, was awarded the HMC Dedicated Service Award. This award recognizes those staff members whose tenure and commitment to HMC goes beyond what is required. These award winners strengthen their department and understand the importance of their role in rural healthcare.

Awarded by administration, the Be HMC Award, is given to an employee who demonstrates the “Be HMC” attitude each and every day at work, maintaining a positive attitude no matter the circumstances. This year’s award winner was Teresa Birdsell from the Environmental Health Services Department.

The 2021 Employee Volunteer Award was given to Brian Behrends, Plant Operations Director. Brian is an employee who demonstrates a giving spirit in their volunteer efforts within the HMC community.

The HMC Employee of the Year has been an Employee of the Month Award Winner and was voted by their peers to be the Employee of the Year. This year’s recipient was Mindy Peterson-Lindsey, Special Projects Coordinator. Winners of this award are dedicated, patient, and have gone above and beyond to help their peers on campus.

Voted on by all staff, the Manager of the Year is passionate about leadership and focused on the overall mission and vision of the organization. Awarded to Jeff Greer, HMC Laboratory Manger, Jeff is driven to provide outstanding care to our patients, residents, and customers, but he also understands the need for nurturing and supporting the staff that serve with him.
