    Pekin Municipal Airport Receives $1.8m Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan Grant   Pekin Municipal Airport receives $1.8 million grant toward access roadway improvements and fuel tank updates under the Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan.   Pekin, IL- Pekin Municipal Airport has been awarded a $1.8 million grant from the Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan. This grant will allow the Airport to continue on-going updates and expansion efforts. The Airport, recently recognized as 2020 Illinois General Aviation Airport of the Year, has received an additional $4.5 million from various sources toward infrastructure improvements in the past four years. The City of Pekin applied for the grant after the Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan was announced in 2020. Grant money will be applied toward replacing the fuel tank system and improving access roadways. Traffic Pattern Change for Route 9 in Pekin

  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Dec. 15, 2021     Traffic  pattern  change for Illinois 9 in Pekin     PEKIN  – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that all westbound lanes of Illinois 9 (Ann Eliza Street) at Second Street will reopen Dec. 17.     This traffic pattern will remain in place until spring, when construction in the McNaughton Bridge work zone resumes. Eastbound Illinois 9 (Margaret Street) will remain reduced to one lane.     Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.     Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve more than 3,500 miles of highway and 9 million square feet of bridge deck as part of the Rebuild Illinois capital program, which is investing $33.2 billion into all modes of transpor...

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Curriculum, Free Resources from IL Dept of Human Rights

  The Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) was charged by Public Act 101-0221  (commonly referred to as the Workplace Transparency Act) to develop and release a model Sexual Harassment Prevention Training program for Illinois employers.    Formerly Senate Bill 75, Public Act 101-0221 was signed into law by Governor Pritzker in August 2019. Under this Act, Illinois employers are required to train employees on sexual harassment prevention by December 31, 2020, and on an annual basis thereafter.  This requirement applies to all employers with employees working in this State.  Employers must either develop their own sexual harassment prevention training program that equals or exceeds the minimum standards for sexual harassment prevention training outlined in  Section 2-109(B)  of the Illinois Human Rights Act (IHRA), or they may use the model training provided by the IDHR.
