Pekin Park District is partnering with the Larry Goodlick family to continue the tradition of providing a day of fishing fun on the lagoon. Join us with all your family to enjoy learning how to fish, showing off your skills and participating in games and winning trophies.
Friday, July 28, between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. attend the information stations and get your Larry’s Casting Kids fishing license, t-shirt and goodie bag. Then on Saturday, July 29, from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., join us for the fishing derby. Fishing poles and bait are provided, but you can bring your own equipment and bait if you prefer.
There is no cost, but please register by July 17, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. to make sure we have your correct t-shirt size!

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
