Strider Bike Experience from Pekin Park District

Pekin Park District and Strider Bikes Company are excited to bring the Strider experience to our young future riders.
Strider Bikes has graciously donated 7 Strider beginner bikes (appropriate size for 2-5 years old). If your little one can walk they can ride a Strider.
What is a Strider Balance Bike?
Balance bikes are a very simple bike designed to teach young children how to steer and balance on two wheels.  Balance bikes are designed with only foot propulsion to teach the fundamentals of riding.  When the fundamentals of balance and steering are mastered, transitioning to a bicycle with pedals is easy.
When learning to ride, a child needs to experience the feel of learning and how steering affects the balance of the bike.  Without learning, such as on a tricycle or bike with training wheels, they aren’t really learning to ride at all!  By starting out on a balance bike, your child will develop balance, coordination, and confidence!

Pekin Park District will be holding a Strider Riders Open House Saturday, April 1st 8 to 9am in the Memorial Arena warming room.   Open House is free to the public, stop by check out a bike. Strider has developed an early learning educational program dedicated to teaching children of all abilities the balance needed to enjoy a lifetime of riding adventures.  More information will be handed out on future lessons, camps and races. For more information feel free to call DeDe @ 201-4007.
