SOCCER BUILDS HEALTHY KIDS
Soccer offers a great way for a child to get in top
physical shape through participation in a youth sport while having fun in a
team setting. Playing soccer improves
flexibility, cardiovascular capability, and body composition. Soccer players also develop a sense of
self-confidence and increased social skills. Studies have shown that children
who play competitive sports generally also perform at an above-average level in
school.
Pekin Park District is offering recreational soccer
which is designed to develop skills and allow adequate playing time under the
direction of the Pekin Pride Soccer Club and Pekin Community High School
varsity soccer players.
