ILLINOIS CENTRAL COLLEGE OFFERS TAI CHI WORKSHOP FOR MASSAGE THERAPISTS

Illinois Central College will offer “Tai Chi for the Awareness Oriented Bodyworker,” a workshop that teaches Tai Chi principles tableside for the benefit of both massage therapists and clients, on Sunday, November 6 from 9 am to 5 pm in Hickory Hall, on the ICC North Campus.
Participants will learn how to use Tai Chi as a moving meditation and practice that develops awareness and attention, how to improve body mechanics and self-awareness, how to be more effective with less effort, and awareness-oriented principles at three levels.
The class is taught by Sally Zell, BCTMB. Zell studied with Preston Jackson, Professor Emeritus SAIC, and has practiced extensive training in these methods since 1998 with the founders of IPSB in San Diego.
Cost is $115 and includes materials, certificate of attendance, and seven CEU’s through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Participants should bring a massage table, sheets, oil, and a yoga mat or towel.
