Pekin Park District Tumbling Program Welcomes New Lead Instructor Cecilia Mullis

We are very excited to have Cecilia Mullis as the lead instructor of PPD Tumbling Program. Cecilia Mullis is a former level 6 competitive gymnast and a former competitive cheerleader. She continued to take tumbling classes until the age of 21, with her focus strictly on tumbling. She was a competitive cheerleader at Bleckley County High School and holds a State Championship title. She was also a competitive and game cheerleader for Georgia State University and participated in the National Cheerleading Association Nationals Competitions.  Mrs. Mullis has been teaching gymnastics and cheer for over 10 years, and really enjoys teaching tumbling. She also was a GHSA competition cheerleading judge for four years. As head cheerleading coach at Zama American High School, Japan, she coached the team to first place at the Far East Competition 2016, which consists of all American cheerleading teams located on U.S. bases in the Asian Pacific (Japan, Korea, Guam). She also started 3 competitive cheerleading teams though the Youth Center at Camp Zama, and participated in JamFest Tokyo twice with all teams. Her level 2 team, the Kokeshi Dolls placed 1st against international teams from Korea and Japan. Mrs. Mullis also taught Gymnastics as Head instructor in Japan. Her classes ranged in age from 1-18 and from beginner to advanced tumbling and gymnastics skills.
Mrs. Mullis is currently a member and certified instructor through USA Gymnastics, a member of U.S. All Star Federation, IHSA certified competitive cheerleading official, a certified cheerleading coach with NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations), and a certified cheerleading coach through the National Alliance for Youth Sports.
