Pekin Park District Tumbling Program Welcomes New Lead Instructor Cecilia Mullis
We are very
excited to have Cecilia Mullis as the lead instructor of PPD Tumbling Program.
Cecilia Mullis is a former level 6 competitive gymnast and a former competitive
cheerleader. She continued to take tumbling classes until the age of 21, with
her focus strictly on tumbling. She was a competitive cheerleader at Bleckley
County High School and holds a State Championship title. She was also a
competitive and game cheerleader for Georgia State University and participated
in the National Cheerleading Association Nationals Competitions. Mrs. Mullis has been teaching gymnastics and
cheer for over 10 years, and really enjoys teaching tumbling. She also was a
GHSA competition cheerleading judge for four years. As head cheerleading coach
at Zama American High School, Japan, she coached the team to first place at the
Far East Competition 2016, which consists of all American cheerleading teams
located on U.S. bases in the Asian Pacific (Japan, Korea, Guam). She also
started 3 competitive cheerleading teams though the Youth Center at Camp Zama,
and participated in JamFest Tokyo twice with all teams. Her level 2 team, the
Kokeshi Dolls placed 1st against international teams from Korea and Japan. Mrs.
Mullis also taught Gymnastics as Head instructor in Japan. Her classes ranged
in age from 1-18 and from beginner to advanced tumbling and gymnastics skills.
Mrs. Mullis
is currently a member and certified instructor through USA Gymnastics, a member
of U.S. All Star Federation, IHSA certified competitive cheerleading official,
a certified cheerleading coach with NFHS (National Federation of State High
School Associations), and a certified cheerleading coach through the National
Alliance for Youth Sports.
Mrs. Mullis
is very passionate and motivated when it comes to gymnastics and tumbling
instructing and cannot wait to see all the talent we have here in Pekin!
